First annual Phelps Radar Run  planned for Saturday, January 27

The Phelps Snowmobile Club with assistance from the Phelps Chamber of Commerce is planning an inaugural Phelps Radar Run on Lac Vieux Desert, headquartered at Phelps Hillside Restaurant and Resort on Saturday, January 27. Registration will be held inside Phelps Hillside Restaurant starting at 9am and races will run from 10am-4pm out on the lake.

Radar Runs provide action packed fun for snowmobile enthusiasts, racers and spectators. Races will take place on a 1000-foot groomed snow track on Lac Vieux Desert just off the shoreline from Hillside.  In addition to races, on the lake there will be a snow bar, food, bonfires, raffles and more.

The entry fee for racing will be $10 for one run or three runs for $20, there will be several classes of racing. First and second place times in each class will win trophies. There will also be a special patriotic run to raise money for Phelps Fire and EMS Departments as well as kids’ races.

Spectators and racers should follow signs posted on social media and around town in Phelps for trailer parking.
